"Security Advisers Tied to $40 Bln in Contracts"

"National security advisers to the Republican presidential candidates have ties to defense, homeland security and energy companies that have received at least $40 billion in federal contracts since 2008.

...Romney and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia, who are leading in the polls, have advisers who sit on the board of directors of BAE Systems Inc., which has received at least $37 billion in U.S. government contracts since 2008...

If democracy is government by the people, plutocracy by the wealthy
oligarchy by a few, aristocracy by nobility, theocracy by clergy
corptocracy by business and autocracy by one
who has what where, and who’s on who’s side and why?

"The contrast with smaller rallies in Moscow during last week which saw arrests and beatings was very clear."

"...the mood among protestors as they return home from today’s Moscow protest, which saw one of the biggest gatherings in Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union pass without any arrests or violence, appears to be one of jubilation.

Justice Frances A. McIntyre on free speech, Occupy and "an enabling act for police violence"

“Little in the way of expression is outlawed
under the United States Constitution,
but an act which incites a lawful forceful response
is unlikely to pass as expressive speech.”

Occupy Boston et al vs. City of Boston et al

"So, that which the police suppress violently
is unlikely to be protected by the First Amendment?

What should the electorate expect
from leadership dependent on the status quo?

Can law and morality
unreasonably rationalize the status quo?

Must Read: Hussman Mash Up on Europe, Inflation, Money Printing, Italy, Greece, ECB, EFSF Etc...

"...we've heard all sorts of propositions
that the European Central Bank (ECB) "must" begin printing money
to bail out Italy and other countries, because "there is no other option."

Occupy Tea: "More Than 500 Injured...in Renewed Protests "

"...security forces blocked roads leading to the interior ministry
to stop the protesters from advancing to the ministry’s building,
and at least nine policemen were injured...
Security forces used tear gas and rubber bullets...

Money, Politics & Occupy Tea

Governments cannot create but merely redirect.

When the government spends,
the money has to come from somewhere.

If the government doesn't have a surplus,
then it must come from taxes.

If taxes don't go up,
then it must come from increased borrowing.

If lenders won't lend,
then it must come from the printing press...

each additional dollar printed
diminishes the value of those already in circulation.

Something cannot be effortlessly created from nothing.

News & Record's Doug Clark: "The underprivileged 99 percent"

"Wow. Underprivileged 99 percent.

I would be deeply embarrassed if one of my sons,
who are about the same age, had grown up with 1) this extreme lack of perspective
and 2) such an overinflated sense of entitlement.

...Most Americans are over privileged when compared to most of the rest of the world.

Due to entitlements paid for by borrowing
which is going to be charged to the following generations
including your kids?

And we don't even realize it.

Does Doug realize his sons are going to have to pay for the Aquatic Center?

Does Doug realize his sons are going to have to pay for their father's Social Security
after Doug's generation stole the surpluses since 1983?

How can someone with two college degrees
consider himself underprivileged when it's a privilege just to go to college?

Is it a privilege to graduate with $$$$$ of debt that current job openings
wont make affordable?

Is it a privilege for my kids to pay hundreds % more for education
than their parents did?

It shows how spoiled we've become
when we can't appreciate the opportunities we've been given.

To have had our kids future income taxes confiscated by Doug's generation
so the Baby Boomers could have a more pleasant present
by indenturing our children's future?

...My parents' generation certainly didn't have the privileges we enjoyed
and were able to pass on to our kids.

Is today's biggest generation leaving a better tomorrow for it's children?

...we have college-educated young people
who seem to expect someone else to take care of them.

Do we not have college-educated young people
who can't find jobs in their field of study
because the prior generation exported their jobs to maximize profits
at the expense of future Americans livelyhoods?

I don't think this conversation is really about the privileged and underprivileged at all.

I think it's about givers and takers.

Some people want those who have succeeded to give more
so they can take more.

How is this not hypocritical Doug,
if many who have "succeeded" did so by borrowing more than can be repaid
during their lifetimes?
