NCDOT hopes to ease Triangle congestion with on-ramp stop lights - WNCN: News, Weather for Raleigh. Durham, Fayetteville

This is one of the dumbest ideas that NCDOT can bring to this state. I have visited California and as the blog Carolina Plott Hound said "THEY SUCK". Would agree 100% .

Actually they work quite well once people figure them out but the learning curve can be quite tough for those who are new to them.

The idea is to space the cars out so that cars merge onto the freeway one at a time instead of doing stupid stuff like trying to fit 2,3 or 4 cars into a space big enough for one.

PS. I used to drive to Califorina once a week and they've been using them out there for 40 years. Just takes getting used to.
