What NOT to Say at Redistricting Commission Meeting Jeff Hyde Edition

HAT TIP : The Progressive Pulse CLICKHERE

Jeff Hyde had something to say at last weeks Redistricting Commission meeting after first being called to speak he wasn't there, then came back to the location at GTCC for the second time and Jeff Hyde was in the bathroom . Then finally he had something to say and it was a doozy check out the video at the 25 second mark.  I would like to call this the WHAT NOT TO SAY AT REDISTRICTING COMMISSION MEETING JEFF HYDE EDITION.

UPDATE:

Keith Barber from Yes Weekly CLICKHERE had this to say in his redistricting commission meeting article out in todays edition . Here is more of what jeff Hyde said:

Jeff Hyde of Greensboro praised Republican lawmakers for acting fairly in redrawing the state’s congressional districts.

“They were far more noble in their creating of a congressional map — one that does not lay its allegiance to political party power,” Hyde said. “Rather the map creates 10 districts that balance both Democrats and Republicans. It has created 10 districts that are competitive and fair.”

Gee what a great public voice for the Party he would have been. With friends like these......Signed, axelskater

Keith, I was not there, but it seems from the tone in Jeff's voice, and the way he structured his remarks, that he was leading up to another statement or another point. Unfortunately, the video cut off. Do you know what he said after the video cuts off?

I just wonder whether what he said afterward might provide additional context.

I do not know who has the raw videO feed of the meeting it was a 6 hour very long meeting. I was tuning in and out and I did hear his speech and really heard what you see in clip . It looks like someone else heard that too.

I just wonder whether it represents the totality of the position he was expressing.

Pick up your copy of YES! Weekly today to find out what Jeff said after the video cut off...

A seasoned politician should know prefacing your remarks with such statements would be taken out of context and used against you, especially if you are a Republican. The other side would be fools not to cut it & use it.

And they did just that with the video

In view of what Democrats have done to Republicans on redistricting/gerrymandering matters over the decades, what Jeff said is actually pretty mild. The liberal Democratic activists who have been attending council meetings would not have been nearly as restrained.

And thanks, Keith, for confirming that the remark was taken out of context.

yes they did take it out of context and look at the nc policy watch highlighting it as that. This could be a great lesson as to if you are getting quoted and the other side of aisle takes it out of context then you need to rebuff it real quick from your own blog facebook or even twitter.

i am sure the lefties will use this soundbite to say see they want to stick it to us.

Glad YES! Weekly could be part of this discussion. I just want to make sure credit is given where it's due. The reporting in our pages on this was performed by Keith T. Barber.
