If the City of High Point looks like it only takes High Point trash, why should the White Street Landfill have to take all of the rest of Guilford County's [MSW] Municipal Solid Waste?

If they can get you asking the wrong questions,
they don't have to worry about answers.

Thomas Pynchon

"City of High Point landfilled about 90,000 tons of MSW in 2010,
leaving about 390,000 tons of MSW tons in the rest of Guilford County (including Greensboro) in 2010.

So…

390,000 tons MSW: Guilford County minus High Point (broken out below)

-145,000 tons MSW: Tons collected by City of Greensboro,
including [more than 8,000 tons of ] sludge from Osborne Wastewater Treatment Plant

-100,000 tons MSW: Tons taken by private haulers to Greensboro Transfer Station
(about 55,000 tons generated within Greensboro city limits,
about 45,000 tons from outside Greensboro, but within Guilford County)

Not to transmit an experience is to betray it.

Elie Wiesel

-100,000 tons MSW: Tons taken by private haulers to Republic’s Transfer Station

-45,000 tons MSW: Tons taken by private haulers to various other locations"

Dale Wyrick, P.E.
City of Greensboro
Field Operations Director

Half the work that is done in this world,
is to make things appear what they are not.
