FM 94.5 Will Be The New Radio Station for Rush Limbaugh in 2010 in the Triad Area of North Carolina

The Winston Salem Journal CLICKHERE along with the Triad Business Journal CLICKHERE are reporting that Rush Limbaugh will be moving from the AM station of 600 AM and 1200 AM WSJS to the Clear Channel Station of 94.5 FM which was the spainish channel in 2010.

Here is what was said in the Winston Salem Journal

"Rush Limbaugh is changing channels. Starting Jan. 1, Limbaugh's hit radio show will move from WSJS 600-AM, where it has been the station's highest-rated program, to 94.5 WGBT-FM in Greensboro.

WGBT is currently La Preciosa, a Spanish-language station. It will change to Rush Radio 94.5, a conservative news/talk format on Jan. 1.
Some programming from La Preciosa will continue to be broadcast online and on HD radio, station representatives said.

"We've known about this for some time," Tom Hamilton, the general manager of WSJS, said of Limbaugh's move.
"They did not renew their agreement, and we were not asked to be part of the conversation."

Limbaugh's show is produced by Clear Channel Communications, the company that owns WGBT and its sister stations WMAG, WTQR, WMKS and WVBZ.
WGBT will air The Rush Limbaugh Show from noon to 3 p.m. weekdays, and The Glenn Beck Program from 9 a.m. to noon.
The station will also have local news, traffic and weather.
Moving Limbaugh from an AM to an FM station will expand the reach of the show, said Kim Pyle, the vice president and market manager of Clear Channel's Greensboro station group.
It also looks like Sean Hannity will also be a part of this program in the near future because the web site for the local station 94.5 CLICKHERE has the 3-6 pm. time slot with Sean Hannity Encore. The encore will probably be live once he can get out of contracts with ABC, just speculation on Triadwatch's part.
It will be interesting to see the ratings for this new format with a conservative talk show getting a bigger audience and a FM station in the Triad area of North Carolina.
On a side note did the Greensboro News & Record cover this story this past week? If so please tell me where they did publish this story for their subscribers.Just curious.

why did the radio station change, when la preciosa radio station had a large audience. Was there any particular reason why it was changed? because looking at it from another point of view it was certantly not because lack of ratings it seems to me that it was more of a racist rather than a new way to attract listeners. I would like to see how many rating this new station will bring when latinos are a growing population that made up a large amount of the ratings.

why the hell did the radio station chage to some gay new show, like what the hell is wrong with you people cant you see nobody listens to that.
why couldnt you open another station instead of taking one that had high ratings and everybody liked. Bring the Preciosa Back!!!!! nobody wants to hear about what yal have to say we are having to deal with enough probelms in the world to listen to more issues nobody cares about!!!!!!

I am glad they changed, I didn't want to learn Spanish, but rest assured, El Rushbo will sprinkle in a little "Spanish Lingo" from time to time.

it will be interesting to see how the ratings will be on the new rush radio but for me i am a huge dennis miller fan and now the old rush station will now have dennis miller on between 10 and 12.

I would like to know, will there be another Spanish station, to listen to in Greensboro they seem to have had a lot of fans. It doesn't seem fair just to flip the station and not at least give, Spanish speaking citizens a station of their own,Like it or not they are a big part of our community

here are some of the spanish radio stations that are still in the area,
greensboro 1470 on the am dial
winston salem 1380 on the am dial
reidsville 1220 on the am dial
lewisville 1040 on the am dial

these stations don't have the reach like 94.5 was but could still pick them up.

One suggestion because i am a fan of in that having a sirius or a xm radio you can get a lot of spanish stations and plenty more. I am a fan of satellite radio.

I LIVE IN ADVANCE--JUST WEST OF CLEMMONS-- AND I CANNOT GET 94.5 FM IT IS BLURRED BY ANOTHER STATION-- HOWEVER I CAN GE IN MY CAR-- ANY REASON?

sometimes that happens where stations overlap and you can't get the reception. I am a fan of xm radio and it allows me to get plenty of talk radio personalities. You also won't get inteerrupted with signals because it is all satellite.

2010-
Thanks for enlightening the listeners with truth via the new Rush 94.5 show! My wife and I love it-its like swimming upstream-but the end result with the salmon is they repopulate! Yes truth hurts-sorry to say for many of the old listeners as I read thru a few comments but this is America-Land of the free and home of the brave-but more importantly "God blesses this country because a few of us here still believe and keep Him first.
Everyone is welcome here to become a legal citizen, make your home here by learning our language, work and pay taxes...nothing is really free. Our forefathers pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to make this the greatest country in the world.
Thanks for shining some light!!!

rush radio did pretty well for a new station with a 2.4 arbitron rating, will see numbers for a whole year to see how they do but first indication is that the format is working

Rush is educational radio so we know what the socialists and Marxists are trying to turn this country into. If you don't want to be informed and just as importantly VOTE! Then you're in the wrong country. Hope you're legal too, if not leave. Comprende amigo? Hasta la vista!
