Fec on Monday's Court at Anton's

"...the movers and the shakers are free to move about under the light of day,
while economic and social conditions continue to be abysmal
and are getting worse.

...Until things get a whole lot better around here for the least of us,
I want these [ph]uckers afraid to leave the cloisters of their country clubs.

I want people in that ucking parking lot every Monday at noon,
putting the issues in their faces until this nonsense comes to an end.

If you are happy cowering in your hovel,
...then continue in your enslavement.

But, if you are hopping mad at the conditions
being endured by most of us, while a few fat cats sit around
with nothing more on their minds than the next ucking ball game,
then get up, go over there and do something about it.

If and when all the citizens of this city are fairly represented,
these jackasses are free to meet in public
and make their regular whereabouts known.

But until then, I want the citizens in their faces
to the point they are afraid to go to the [ph]ucking grocery store.

If you do not see these regular meetings,
despite ...Robinson’s take,
as a regular opportunity for collusion and crony capitalism,
then you deserve the governance you get.

Smoke-filled back rooms are called that for a reason.

...Greensboro has become so cowed with apathy and cowardice
that these jerks are able to do their dirty work in public.

Shame on Greensboro for allowing this to occur.

These are not your friends; they are your [ph]ucking masters!"

Fec

You do not become a ‘dissident’
just because you decide one day to take up this most unusual career.

You are thrown into it by your personal sense of responsibility,
combined with a complex set of external circumstances.

You are cast out of the existing structures
and placed in a position of conflict with them.

It begins as an attempt to do your work well,
and ends with being branded an enemy of society.

…He does not attempt to charm the public.

He offers nothing and promises nothing.

He can offer, if anything, only his own skin
—and he offers it solely because he has no other way
of affirming the truth he stands for.

His actions simply articulate his dignity as a citizen,
regardless of the cost.
